Prince Edward Island Federation of Foster Families is hosting the CFFA’s National Conference entitled “Building Bridges”.

May 8 – 14, 2011, Delta Prince Edward Hotel, Charlottetown, PEI.

The organizing committee is planning a number of events for the week including: workshops, national meetings and social events. We invite delegates and others from across Canada to join us. We will keep you informed as Conference details become available.

Annual Santa’s Christmas Show Fundraiser – December 20th

The Canadian Foster Family Association (CFFA) is pleased to be hosting the 11th Annual Santa’s Christmas Show (December 20th at the Italian Cultural Centre, 3075 Slocan Street, BC at 4 and 7pm.) providing entertainment and joy for many deserving and less fortunate children in the greater Vancouver area. National Foster Family Week – October 17th – 23th, 2010

Each year during the Third full week of October, National Foster Family Week is celebrated across Canada.

This is a time for foster families to be recognized for their dedication, commitment, and caring of the foster children/youth they care for across Canada. Celebrations and events take place in each Province and Territory during this week, and in some Provinces it is celebrated during the full month of October.

National Project Update– Every Child Matters: Strengthening Foster Families in Canada

The CFFA is working with the Child Welfare League of Canada (CWLC) on a two and a half year project that will bring together foster families across Canada. Foster families will be involved in consultations and focus groups, exchanging information during national teleconferences, and contributing to an understanding of how we recruit, train, and retain foster families nation wide. Board of Directors Meeting October 1 – 3

The CFFA Board of Directors will be holding a Board of Directors meeting October 1 – 3.  We will be
meeting at James River Camp just outside of Calgary, Alberta.  This will be the 3rd year that we have held our meetings here, and what a great place to be able to go to for meetings.  Thanks Alberta Foster Parent Association for your kindness in providing the use of the camp for our meetings.

2011 CFFA Conference “Building Bridges” Announced

2011 CFFA Conference “Building Bridges” will be held in PEI. May 9 – 14th. More details TBA.

Report on 2010 CFFA Annual Symposium

This year our 30th Annual CFFA Symposium was hosted by the Saskatchewan Foster Family Association in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The conference – Walking Together, Voices for Change was held June 7 – 13th.

The CFFA meetings went well, being held during the first part of the week, with the Executive meeting on Monday, the Board of Directors on Tuesday, the National Working Group on Wednesday, and the AGM Thursday morning. Read more
