June 25-28, 2020

This international conference will profile initiatives that help children and youth in care thrive by promoting the creation of significant relationships, a sense of belonging to their family, their community, and their culture.

Youth and families (biological, kinship, foster), professionals, service providers, researchers, decision makers, students, and all who are involved in promoting the well-being of children in care and their families are invited to showcase and discover promising initiatives that reach children and youth in care and their families.

Close Ties will present a full roster of research-informed practices, artistic creations, community mobilizing, as well clinical and personal experience. Particular attention will be placed on populations that urgently need our complete attention namely, children and families who are Indigenous, migrant children, LGBTQ2S+ youth, children with disabilities, and youth transitioning out of care.
