Successes of 2008/09

We have enjoyed many successes in 2008 and the first half of 2009:

  • Update of website completed with new options added
  • CFFA Public Service Announcement “Room For One More?” completed.
  • CFFA Public Service Announcement aired during month of October at all Empire Theatres across Canada
  • Special Event held October 1st in Victoria, B.C. for the unveiling of the PSA
  • Public Service Announcement “Room For One More?” produced in French.
  • A second Board of Directors meeting was held in Alberta Oct. 15th and 16th 2008.
  • Prime Minister again this year sent letter recognizing Foster Families during National Foster Family Week.
  • Governor General sent letter again this year in recognition of National Foster Family Week.
  • Policy and Procedure Manual revision completed by Committee
  • Have representation on one of the Child Welfare League of Canada’s Advisory Committee’s for one of their projects
  • Have representation on the 2011 International Foster Care Organization (IFCO) Conference planning committee

We will also strive to continue to:

  • Strengthen our partnerships with other organizations and groups
  • Update website regularly
  • Increase our profile at the Federal and Provincial levels
  • Increase Public Awareness of the CFFA and fostering in general
  • Improve communication and information sharing within our organization
  • Hold Executive conference calls between conferences and meetings.
  • See an increase of visits to our website (we now have the ability to monitor this)
  • Hold the annual Children’s Christmas shows as a fundraising initiative
  • Produce and distribute to our members, the CFFA Bulletin 3 times a year (also posted on website)
